A new feature of the 27th annual Christmas Home Decorating Contest was the creation of a "People's Choice Award."
A mail-in ballot was included in the Tour of Lights Map printed in the Dec. 10 News Tribune, and the public was invited to use the ballot to vote for their favorite entrant in the Christmas lights contest as they took a tour of the city using the map as their guide.
More than 100 readers filled out a ballot. The contest entrants who received the most votes from the public are Travis and Ashley Holtmeyer, 3023 Mercedes Lane.
The annual Christmas Home Decorating Contest is sponsored by the News Tribune, the Parks and Recreation Department, Cottonstone Gallery and Frame Shop and the Jefferson City Outdoors volunteer group.
