Pedestrians pass CIT Group Inc. headquarters on Thursday in New York. Bondholders approved a rescue loan Sunday for the lending firm.

This year's ornament, priced at $15, features the Missouri Pacific Depot, where in 1946 British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Harry S Truman arrived when their motorcade then proceeded through High Street and on to Westminster College, where Churchill delivered his famous "Iron Curtain' speech.

The first ornament in the fundraising program began with the Executive Mansion, followed by other prominent buildings in the city. Over the years, the ornaments have evolved from flat, one-dimensional decorations to full-fledged 3D versions with color. All the money raised supports the CCHS museum and preservation efforts.

The Missouri Pacific Depot ornament comes with a red ribbon for hanging and is presented in a gift box along with an insert describing its history and significance to the community. It's available for purchase at the CCHS office, 109 Madison St., Super Hair and Kas A Design, as well as Samuel's Tuxedos and Gifts, Carrie's Hallmark, Southbank Gifts, Midwest Travel and the Visitors and Convention Bureau, all on High Street.
