Boys Basketball: Eugene 72, Hallsville 35

EUGENE, Mo. — The Eugene Eagles jumped out to a commanding lead and cruised to a 72-35 win against Hallsville on Tuesday night.

The Eagles (5-0) had a 23-7 lead after one quarter and led 41-18 entering the second half. Eugene outscored the Indians 19-9 in the third period, before cruising to a win.

Drew Geritz scored a game-high 14 points, while Travis Kempker added 13, and Cameron Massman chipped in 11 to lead Eugene.

In the junior varsity game, Eugene came away with a 62-31 victory.

The Eagles return to action Friday at St. Elizabeth.
