Friday's Golf Capsules

Tournaments played Dec. 6, 2013

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) - Tiger Woods had a birdie putt on every hole and made 10 of them Friday to tie his own course record at Sherwood and take a three-shot lead in the World Challenge.

Woods had a 10-under 62, matching the score he shot in the second round at Sherwood six years ago. That gave him a two-shot lead over Zach Johnson, who birdied the last hole for a 68. Matt Kuchar also had a 68 and was another shot behind.

Graeme McDowell played with Woods and called it a clinic. Woods missed only one fairway and hit every green. Woods said it was similar to the 61 he had at Firestone this year when he won the Bridgestone Invitational by seven shots.

Woods already is a five-time winner at Sherwood.

NEDBANK GOLF CHALLENGE

SUN CITY, South Africa (AP) - Wales' Jamie Donaldson completed a first-round 67 and shot 66 in the second round to take the lead in the Nedbank Golf Challenge, South Africa's first major sporting event since former president and anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela died Thursday.

The 30 players, all wearing black ribbons, spent around nine hours on the course to make up for lost time when the first round was halted because of lightning Thursday.

Donaldson had an 11-under 133 total at Gary Player Country Club.

Sweden's Henrik Stenson, playing for the first time since ending last season with the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup and European Tour's Race to Dubai titles, was three strokes back along with American Ryan Moore. Stenson had rounds of 69 and 67, and Moore shot 71-65.

The European Tour is sanctioning the event for the first time.

HONG KONG OPEN

HONG KONG (AP) - South Africa's Jbe Kruger shot a 4-under 66 to take the second-round lead in the Hong Kong Open.

Kruger had a 7-under 133 total at Hong Kong Golf Club in the event sanctioned by the European and Asian tours. Wales' Stuart Manley was a stroke back after a 67.

Defending champion Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain was tied for 14th at 3 under after a 67. Last year, Jimenez became the oldest champion in European Tour history, winning at 48 years, 318 days. He also won the event in 2005 and 2008.

John Daly missed the cut with rounds of 78 and 68. Daly was making his third start since having surgery on his right elbow in July. He tied for 48th last month in China in the BMW Masters and missed the cut last week in the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa.

Guan Tianlang, the Chinese teenager who made the cut at the Masters in April, also missed the cut. He shot 71-75.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - Stacy Lewis increased her lead to two strokes in the Dubai Ladies Masters, shooting a 2-under 70 in the third round.

The third-ranked Lewis, a three-time winner this year on the LPGA Tour, had an 11-under 205 total in the Ladies European Tour's season-ending event. She had three birdies and a bogey at Emirates Golf Course a day after making eight birdies in a 65.

The 19-year-old Green, from Boca Raton, birdied the final two holes for a bogey-free 6-under 66 in windy conditions on LPGA International's Jones Course. She had a 20-under 196 total, a record for three rounds since the event became a 90-hole event.

The 23-year-old Lee, from South Korea, had a 61 to break the Jones Course record of 62 that Green set Wednesday. Tied for 25th entering the day, Lee had an eagle, 10 birdies and a bogey.
