The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded several Mid-Missouri transportation improvement projects.

APAC also was awarded a contract to improve more than 14 miles of U.S. 50, Business 50 and state Route K in Moniteau County. The low bid for the project was $1,996,670.

Rolla Asphalt LLC will improve the pavement and shoulders along nearly 18 miles of Missouri 19 in Gasconade County, between Hermann and Drake. Their low bid for the work was $2,231,234.

All projects are scheduled to be done during the 2014 construction season.

The six-member commission approved the contracts by electronic ballot Monday.
