TIPTON - Tipton claimed a 54-50 win over Chamois in the opening round of the Tipton Tournament on Tuesday night.
Alison Mehmert poured in 30 points and Paige Nolte added 14 to lead Chamois (1-2).
Tipton trailed by two after the first quarter, but tied the game at 23 at the half and outscored the Lady Pirates 31-27 the rest of the way to earn the victory.
Chamois will take on Smithton in the second round of the tournament at 7:30 p.m. today.
