Blue Tigers rally from 17 down, beat Talladega in triple OT

MEMPHIS, Mo. - The Lincoln men's basketball team rallied from a 17-point deficit with eight minutes remaining in the second half to claim a 101-98 victory against Talladega in triple overtime at the HBCU Classic on Saturday evening.

Joshua Buie, who led all players with 35 points, forced overtime by hitting a buzzer-beating 3-pointer that tied the game at 77 to end regulation. The 6-foot-1 junior also dished nine assists, recorded three steals, and scored all 10 of Lincoln's points in the final overtime, including two made free throws with 13 seconds left to clinch the victory.

Buie was 11-of-19 from the floor and 10-of-11 from the charity stripe as the Blue Tigers (2-6) earned a split in the tournament.

Mike Smith scored 23 points and Deshon Williams added 17 to help pace Lincoln's offensive attack, which scored 32 points off 23 Talladega tournovers.

The win ended a six-game winning streak by the Tornados (10-2).

Lincoln returns to action Thursday when the Blue Tigers host Northeastern state at 7:30 p.m.
