A Jefferson City man is charged with raping a female who was younger than 14.
Jared Maute, 18, is believed to have committed the crime in October 2012 at a residence in the 1000 block of Poplar Street.
A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows that during an interview with detectives, Maute acknowledged he was with the victim and admitted to having sex with her.
He also said he was asked to have sex with the victim by his then girlfriend because the victim was still a virgin.
