35-year-old man drowns at Truman Lake

CLINTON, Mo. (AP) - A 35-year-old man has drowned in Truman Lake after he suffered an apparent medical condition as he was getting ready to retrieve his boat.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says James Beason of Deepwater was backing his vehicle on the Sparrowfoot boat ramp Thursday when the medical emergency occurred. The vehicle and trailer entered the water, and Beason became trapped inside.

A bystander managed to pull Beason from the vehicle and place him in a boat. An ambulance crew rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
