TROY, Mo. - The Jefferson City Lady Jays opened the season on the right foot Wednesday with a 7-5 victory against Troy.
Taylor Dey and Katie Tambke had two hits each for the Lady Jays, while Brooke Rozier added a three-run home run.
Krista Brickey picked up the victory as she allowed nine hits.
Jefferson City (1-0) returns to action Thursday at Sullivan.
The Lady Jays lost Wednesday's JV game 13-8.
