JC man sentenced on child porn charges

A Jefferson City man has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to promoting child pornography in Boone County.

The charge against Christopher Sabando, 23, was from July 2012.

Sabando was charged after an investigation led by the Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force.

A cyber crimes task force investigator downloaded child pornography showing the molestation of a prepubescent girl from a computer believed to be in the Jefferson City area.

The investigator found that an officer with the Nixa Police Department also downloaded child pornography from the same computer.

The location was found and task force detectives and Jefferson City police officers served a search warrant at Sabando's residence.

A computer was seized, and detectives were able to identify Sabando as the person who possessed and downloaded the files.
