SW Missouri company to expand manufacturing facility

CARTHAGE, Mo. (AP) - A manufacturing company is planning a $5 million expansion for its facility in southwestern Missouri.

Gov. Jay Nixon announced Wednesday that Leggett & Platt would be adding 28,000 square feet and an expected 12 jobs to its Flex-O-Lators facility in Carthage. The plant makes automotive seating components.

The state Department of Economic Development says $167,034 worth of incentives through the Enhanced Enterprise Zone program have been authorized.

Leggett & Platt was founded in 1883. It is based in Carthage and has 130 facilities in 17 countries. The company makes various products for homes, offices and vehicles.
