St. Louis man sentenced on heroin charges

A St. Louis man was sentenced to eight years in prison for pleading guilty to selling heroin in November 2012 in Jefferson City.

Ben Scott Jr., 40, was taken into custody in February after the Jefferson City Police Department and MUSTANG Drug Task Force did a roundup of persons wanted for heroin distribution and other drug or weapon violations.

Scott was identified as a "high level" heroin dealer who had been linked to several heroin overdoses in Central Missouri.

He was also identified as a wanted federal fugitive for heroin trafficking in the St. Louis area.
