BizBeat: Winner, winner, Chik-fil-A dinner?

We're one step closer to being able to eat a spicy chicken biscuit for breakfast - but Chick-fil-A is not coming as soon as we had hoped.

We reported back in December that Chik-fil-A plans to start building a Jefferson City restaurant in the Lowe's parking lot late this summer.

So far, no signs of construction and Jefferson City isn't listed on the company's website as one of the eight planned openings. But don't cry fowl just yet.

Last week, the city approved a building permit for the project. On Thursday, a Chick-fil-A spokesman confirmed that the company does plan to open a restaurant, but he said a date hasn't been set.

"Please check back toward the end of the year for more concrete information," spokesman Bernard Hendrex said.
