Weather Service issues Osage River flood warning at St. Thomas

The National Weather Service issued an Osage River flood warning at St. Thomas, from Wednesday evening through Thursday night.

The warning was issued Wednesday morning, with the river already at 20.8 feet, and flood stage at St. Thomas is 23.0 feet.

"Minor flooding is forecast," the St. Louis Weather Service office said, with the Osage rising "to near flood stage early Thursday evening."

The warning was prompted both by water releases from the Bagnell Dam at Lake Ozark and because of predictions of additional rain in South-Central Missouri this week.
