Liner knocks Cardinals' Miller out on 2nd pitch

ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis Cardinals rookie pitcher Shelby Miller lasted just two pitches against the Los Angeles Dodgers, leaving the game after taking a line drive by Carl Crawford off his right elbow.

The 22-year-old Miller held his arm in pain as he walked off the field accompanied by a team trainer Wednesday night. Crawford's liner bounded into shallow left field for a double.

Fellow rookie Michael Blazek replaced Miller, among the National League's top rookie pitchers entering with an 11-7 record and 2.89 ERA.
