One man has been charged in connection with a stabbing early Monday morning in Jefferson City.
Willie Harrison, 50, was being held in the Cole County Jail on a $50,000 bond, after he was charged with first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.
Jefferson City police reported that officers were sent about 2:15 a.m. to Broadway and West Atchison streets area to investigate a 911 hang-up call.
When a second call came in, officers could hear screaming from the area of 815 Washington St. — a block east of the first call.
Police said they found a woman in the middle of the street, bleeding from three stab wounds.
Harrison then was found in the parking lot behind 815 Washington St., — with a wound where he had been stabbed in the head with a screw driver.
A witness said that Harrison dragged the victim down the stairs from 815 Washington, while he was stabbing her.
The witness said the victim stabbed Harrison in the head, in self-defense.
Police said both Harrison and the victim were treated for their non-life threatening injuries at separate area hospitals.
