Jefferson City police got an unusual assist in making an arrest on Sunday.

When officers on patrol recognized Terrian Davis, a 19-year-old with six arrest warrants, in the yard at 821 E. McCarty St., they stopped and approached the residence.

When Davis fled into the home, officers chased him, clearing out the residence. But Davis had made his way upstairs and outside to the roof, where he hid.

It had been raining, and officers thought it was too slippery to gain access to the roof the same way Davis had, and bring him down through the house. That's when they requested the Fire Department bring a ladder truck, police said in a written statement after the incident.

The ladder was extended to the roof, and officers walked across the ladder onto the roof, where they said they safely arrested Davis and brought him down on the ladder.

Davis now faces additional charges for resisting arrest.
