New faces at LU women's basketball

The Lincoln University women's basketball team has added two players and an assistant coach.

Jasmine Ray and Kate Frazier have transferred to the Blue Tigers. Both will be juniors.

Ray, a 5-foot-6 point guard, has previously played at San Bernardino College and the University of Hawaii.

As a junior at San Bernardino High School, Ray led the state of California in scoring at 30.5 points per game and was 10th in the state in scoring as a senior.

Also in high school, Ray played wide receiver, cornerback and at kicker for the football team as well as setting the school record in the shot put.

Frazier, a 6-0 forward, comes to Lincoln from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. She hit nearly 55 percent of her shots from the field last season, averaging 3.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in helping her team to a 21-9 overall record.

In her prep days, Frazier played at Glendale High School in Springfield.

Alex Wiggs joins the Lincoln coaching staff after serving the last three seasons as an assistant at Moberly Area Community College.

Defensively, Wiggs helped the team allow a school-record 48.5 points per game last season.

Before taking over as the assistant women's basketball coach at Moberly, Wiggs served on the Greyhounds' men's basketball staff from August of 2010 to July of 2011.
