Randi Abbott received $500 for the Young Women in Public Affairs Award from Zonta Club.
She has chaired community events through her work with Key Club, raised funds for a local soup kitchen and provided volunteer services abroad. As a result of a mission trip to South America, she organized a fundraiser for ELIMINATE, an initiative to prevent women and children from developing maternal and neonatal tetanus.
Abbott plans to attend the University of Missouri and continue her volunteer work in South America.
Zonta Club also recognizes the five finalists: Sarah Gillespie, Molly Hunt, Kimberly Ousley, Makenzie Smith and Jade Wieberg.
