A "glitch" in the alarm system triggered a fire alarm at 1:22 p.m. in the state Capitol, causing the building to be evacuated, investigators said Tuesday.
The Jefferson City Fire Department investigated both the first and second floors, where the alarms indicated a problem, but found nothing.
No one was injured.
The alarm came as House and Senate committees were meeting to consider bills for floor debate in the final 2 1/2 weeks of the legislative session.
There was no estimate on the number of people evacuated.
