FULTON - The William Woods Owls posted a 1-0 win Monday to win their best-of-three series with Hannibal-LaGrange in the quarterfinals of the American Midwest Conference Tournament.
Shelby LeCuru (Helias High School) scored the game's only run in the bottom of the fifth.
William Woods split a doubleheader with Hannibal-LaGrange on Sunday afternoon, losing the first game 7-2 before responding with a 9-0 victory in the nightcap.
LeCuru went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in the opener and LeCuru went 2-for-3 with three RBI in the nightcap.
Also in the second game, Lindsey LeCuru (Helias High School) went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
The Owls advance to the bracketed portion of the tournament, which will be held starting Thursday at the Antimi Softball Complex in Columbia.
