Auburn tops MU

COLUMBIA - Missouri opened a three-game Southeastern Conference baseball series with Auburn on Friday, falling 3-1.

Keaton Steele supplied the lone run of the game for the Tigers with his second-inning solo home run. It was one of seven hits in the game for Missouri.

Rob Zastryzny was the tough-luck loser for the Tigers. He went eight innings, striking out 11. Auburn hit two home runs in the contest.

Missouri (13-24 overall, 5-14 SEC) and Auburn (25-16, 7-12) resume their series at 2 p.m. today at Taylor Stadium.
