Woman charged in 2004 central Mo. homicide

CAMDENTON, Mo. (AP) - Clara Rector, 36, of Laurie, is accused of killing 48-year-old Tommy Hope at his Camdenton home in April 2004. Rector was charged Wednesday, three days after she was arrested in an unrelated stalking case.

Rector was questioned in 2004 and admitted using drugs with Hope and being at his home before his death. But no arrests were ever made.

Investigators say Rector admitted this week she and Hope had an affair and that she killed him in anger over a drug issue.

Rector's husband, Jason Rector, is also held without bond on a tampering charge in the unrelated stalking case. Neither of them has a lawyer.
