Callaway water district 2 boil advisory continues

Callaway 2 Water District has issued a boil advisory for part of its service area due to a leak in a water main on Wednesday afternoon.

Water District Office Manager Janice Meyer said that as of 1 p.m. Wednesday, water pressure was back on. She noted that the advisory was voluntary, and separate from a boil order issued by the Department of Natural Resources.

This boil advisory remains in effect for the following areas in Callaway County for a period of 48 hours from the time that a customer's water pressure returned:

  • County Road 305 (between State Road H and State Road F)
  • County Road 306
  • County Road 308

Subdivisions included in the boil advisory are:

  • Cedar Oaks
  • Stonehaven
  • Laurlake
  • Oak Grove

The district advises that water for consumption should be boiled vigorously for three minutes. Ice should not be made from unboiled water. Some customers may see discoloration in the water from iron deposits, and it's recommended that doing laundry be postponed until water clears up.
