State Farm donates $25,000 to Red Cross

State Farm donated $25,000 to help the American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter provide disaster relief and other local services to those who need it most.

The chapter, which serves 21 Mid-Missouri counties, has volunteers available every day of the year and at all hours to provide emergency food, clothing and shelter at no cost to clients.

The Red Cross receives no government funding. Its mission, which also includes programs such as Service to Armed Forces and health and safety training classes, is funded through the generosity of the American public.

"We truly appreciate the generosity of the people of State Farm insurance," said Dave Griffith, chapter executive director. "This donation to the Red Cross speaks volumes about their compassion for those whose lives will be turned upside down by disaster and shows their concern for the health and safety of individuals and families throughout our community."
