Renovations begin soon at St. Louis Union Station

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Long-awaited renovations at St. Louis Union Station are about to begin.

A company called Lodging Hospitality Management is the new owner of the former train station, which now houses a hotel, restaurants and shops. Chairman Bob O'Loughlin told KMOX Radio (http://cbsloc.al/15BKA9J ) that renovation work will begin by the end of this month.

O'Loughlin says all guest rooms and the Grand Hall are to be renovated.

Plans also call for more office space, less retail, and trains running from Union Station to various destinations, including excursion trains to Missouri Wine Country or to Cardinals games in Kansas City or Chicago.
