Lincoln back in top spot

The Blue Tigers are back at No. 1.

After spending a week as the nation's second-ranked team, the Lincoln women's track and field team regained the top spot in this week's poll from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Lincoln earned 229.96 points, overtaking Grand Canyon (Ariz.) which fell to second with 215.69 points.

Academy of Art (Calif.) is third with 210.26 points and defending national champion Grand Valley State (Mich.) is fourth with 208.57 points.

The Lincoln men are just outside the top five, coming in at No. 6 with 112.83 points.

Lincoln is the highest ranked MIAA program.

Saint Augustine's (N.C.) is No. 1 with 275.20 points. Adams State is second with 260.28 points and Grand Canyon is third on the men's side with 198.85 points.

Lincoln is back in action this weekend at the Drake Relays.
