The Missouri basketball team has added a fifth member to its recruiting class with the addition of point guard Shane Rector.

Rector (6-0, 175 pounds) from South Kent, Conn. is considered to be one of the top players in the New York City area.

He averaged 17.4 points and 7.1 assists per game last season.

"We are so excited to be able to add a player of Shane's caliber to our recruiting class and his ability to attack the rim and create for his teammates fits well with how we like to play," Missouri coach Frank Haith said in a release from the school.

Rector, who had originally committed to Rutgers before its recent coaching change, is a three-star player according to Rivals. He joins Wes Clark, Torren Jones, Jonathan Williams III and Keanau Post in Missouri's class for the upcoming season.
