Prep Baseball: Helias frosh win title

WARDSVILLE, Mo. - The Helias freshman team won the Blair Oaks Tournament title on Saturday.

The Crusaders defeated Centralia, Southern Boone and Blair Oaks on the way to the championship.

Helias opened up play with a 7-0 victory over Centralia. Cole Johnson was the winning pitcher, striking out six.

The Crusaders then topped Southern Boone 7-2. Ryan Grassle was the winner, allowing one earned run on three hits. John McDonald collected two hits and scored two runs.

Helias then beat Blair Oaks 5-0 in the title game. Clayton Winter struck out nine as the winning pitcher. Johnson picked up two hits and two RBI.

Helias (15-3) hosts Monday on Hickman.
