Florida outslugs Missouri in 8-6 win

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri Tigers pounded out 12 hits, but Florida got 18 of its own and the Gators posted an 8-6 win in baseball action Friday.

Missouri took a 4-1 lead after one inning, but didn't score again until Florida had built up an 8-4 lead after 71⁄2 innings.

Dane Opel pounded out three hits and two RBI for the Tigers, while Logan Pearson had two hits and one RBI. Keaton Steele, Kendall Keeton and Josh Lester had one hit and one RBI each, while Dillon Everett chipped in with three hits.

Starter Rob Zastryzny (2-7) took the loss for Missouri. He pitched 52⁄3 innings and gave up six earned runs on 12 hits while walking one and striking out five.

The Tigers (12-21 overall, 4-12 Southeastern Conference) and Gators (21-18, 9-7) will resume their series with one game today starting at 2 p.m.
