Holts Summit man pleads guilty to drug charges

A Holts Summit man has pleaded guilty to multiple drug-related charges from October 2012, including two counts of distributing a controlled substance to a minor in Jefferson City.

Zachary Fewins, 20, is believed to have given the narcotic Klonopin to a 16-year-old male.

He also pleaded guilty to first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and tampering with a witness.

He was placed on five years supervised probation, ordered to serve 120 days in the Cole County Jail with credit for time served and ordered not to have contact with the victim.

According to Jefferson City police, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Belair where they found the 16-year-old unconscious in a bathtub. The juvenile was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

He told officers that Fewins gave him the drug.

The juvenile said he cut up the pills and snorted them, then took some orally.
