Your Opinion: Pet owner promotes Puppies for Parole

Dear Editor:

I noticed that on the front page of your classifieds there is a dog from Jefferson City Correctional Center up for adoption. If anyone is considering adopting a dog, I would recommend to call Cindy. They always have several dogs nearing completion of their training.

I had been thinking about adopting a pet but did not have time to train a puppy and then I saw the ad for Puppies for Parole last fall and there were two dogs up for adoption. I went to JCCC and fell in love with Cayman. I considered her a "special needs" dog because loud noises and sudden movements scared her. She is four years old and has lived in a shelter all her life.

She is now a house dog, likes walking the greenway and playing with the grandkids. Now she is just my special dog.

Thank you to the Puppies for Parole program.
