Officers held Davis at gunpoint, but he refused to drop the knife and lie on the ground. Instead, he paced back and forth saying, “I’m not going back to prison,” while looking for an escape route.
Officers advised Davis if he did not drop the knife, he would be Tasered. Davis yelled go ahead, lifted his sweatshirt up.
An officer fired his Taser, striking Davis, which caused him to drop the knife and fall to the ground before he was taken into custody.
Officers were not harmed, and Davis had minor injuries caused by the Taser barbs.
