COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Jefferson City Jays tennis team split a pair of matches Friday at the Columbia Duals.
In their opener, the Jays romped to a 9-0 win over C.B.C.
Singles winners for the Jays were Sam Johnson (6-0, 6-1), David Clausen (6-4, 6-4), David Steinmeyer (6-2, 6-1), Spencer Bone (6-2, 6-0), Isaac Roling (6-0, 6-0) and Rex Michitsch (6-1, 6-1).
In doubles, Johnson and Clausen won 6-4, 6-4; Steinmeyer and Roling won 6-4, 6-4; and Bone and Dalton Doyle won 6-2, 6-4.
Jefferson City then dropped a 9-0 decision to Edwardsville, Ill.
Losing in singles for the Jays were Johnson (1-6, 3-6), Clausen (3-6, 2-6), Steinmeyer (2-6, 2-6), Bone (0-6, 4-6), Roling (6-4, 0-6, 3-10 match tiebreaker) and Michitsch (1-6, 1-6).
Johnson and Clausen lost 6-7, 6-7; Steinmeyer and Roling lost 1-6, 1-6; and Bone and Doyle lost 2-6, 2-6.
Jefferson City (5-3) will host Joplin at 10 a.m. today.
