Dear Editor:
As I was walking my dog around the McKay Park lake I evidently lost the medical alert bracelet I wear. Just as I approached my car a beautiful little girl about 7 or 8 years old came running after me and breathlessly asked if I had lost the bracelet she was holding.
Needless to say I was surprised but thankful she had found it and I attempted to give her a dollar bill for returning it. "Oh no," she said, "I couldn't take that." I placed it in her hand anyway but she was obviously embarrassed so reluctantly I took it back.
"That's just what people do," she told me. I thanked her again and as her parents caught up with us I assured them they were raising a very outstanding little girl.
I'd like to publicly thank her again today.
