Jays sixth, Helias 11th at Sedalia Smith-Cotton Classic

SEDALIA - Jefferson City took sixth and Helias placed 11th in the 20-team Sedalia Smith-Cotton Classic on Monday at the Sedalia Country Club.

The Jays shot 320 as a team, while Helias carded a 336. Park Hill South won the tournament with a 286, Rock Bridge took second with 292 and Pembroke Hill was third with 302. Tipton took 15th with a 357.

Rock Bridges' Jack Knoesel was the overall medalist with a 67.

Travis Roberts led Jefferson City with a 77, as Gabe Trowbridge (78), Andrew Hansen (79), Brennen Horn (86) and David Anderson (94) rounded out the pack.

Brandon Tomblinson paced Helias with an 80, while Austin Smith (83), Andrew Schaumburg (85), Nick Rehagen (88) and Matthew Branch (106) competed as well.

Ethan Koechner shot a 79 to lead Tipton, while Hayden Eichelberger (84), Beau Bookout (95), Jacob Buschjost (99) and Braden Boehlen (108) completed the course.
