Boys Tennis: Jays top Central

The Jefferson City Jays won five singles matches and defeated Springfield Central 6-3 on Saturday morning.

Singles winners for the Jays were Sam Johnson (6-1, 6-1), David Clausen (7-5, 6-2), Spencer Bone (6-2, 6-2), Isaac Roling (6-1, 6-1) and Rex Michitsch (4-6, 6-2 10-5 match tiebreaker). David Steimneyer dropped his match (4-6, 2-6).

The doubles team of Bone and Dalton Doyle won their match 10-4. Johnson and Clausen dropped their match 6-10 while Steinmeyer and Roling suffered a 5-10 loss.

The Jays (3-2) are back in action Monday at Washington Park against Hickman.
