Lincoln track retains No. 1 ranking

The Lincoln women's track team remains the top Division II team in the nation.

The Blue Tigers stayed at No. 1 in the latest poll released Tuesday by the United States Track and Field and Cross country Coaches Association.

It was a good week for the Blue Tigers as the women had several strong performances at the Pitt. State Invitational on Saturday. Sheri Kaye Campbell won the high jump and Donna-Lee Hylton took home the title in the 200-meter dash.

Adams State (Colo.) is second and Grand Canyon (Ariz.) is ranked third. Central Missouri is ranked 11th on the women's side and Pitt. State is in at No. 20.

The Lincoln men moved up one spot to sixth this week.

Four other MIAA teams are ranked including PItt State at No. 9, Missouri Southern at No. 11 and Central Missouri at No. 22.

St. Augustine (Fla.) is the top team on the men's side.
