Helias downs Hickman in baseball action

COLUMBIA - The Helias Crusaders have some momentum heading into the weekend.

Helias won its fourth straight game with an 11-8 victory Wednesday against Hickman.

Joe Reinkemeyer, Alex Barton and Jordan Backes all had two hits. Cole Distler, Trevor Schnieders, Backes and Chase Bexten all had two RBI.

Lane Caldwell got the win in relief. He allowed one run on one hit in 21⁄3 innings.

Jared Bentlage got the start, allowing four runs on six hits in 21⁄3 innings. Austin Sachse allowed three runs (one earned) in 21⁄3 innings of relief.

Helias (4-2) plays again at 2:30 p.m. Friday against Blue Springs in the first round of the Capital City Invitational at the American Legion Sports Complex.
