Jays 5, Pacific 2

PACIFIC -The Jefferson City baseball team continued its strong start to the season Tuesday night.

The Jays got solo home runs from Corey Beard and Brenden Ogletree and defeated Pacific 5-2.

The Jays, who are now 8-1 on the season, got five innings from Steven Coots. He picked up the win allowing two earned runs on seven hits. He struck out two.

Gabe Marcantonio and Sam Atkinson both went 2-for-4 for the Jays, who open up play in the Capital City Invitational at noon Friday against Eureka at Vivion Field.

Jefferson City lost the JV game 4-3. Ripken Dodson took the loss. Jeremy Light went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Jefferson City.
