Beth Riggert is a lawyer, teacher, researcher, explainer and public relations person.

As the state Supreme Court’s communications counsel, those roles come in no particular order — and sometimes more than one at the same time.

But she doesn’t consider the job to be “public relations” — at least, not the way that job often is understood.
