Linn State student charged with rape

A Linn State Tech student has been charged in a rape and sodomy case involving a 15 year old girl.
According to information from the Osage County Sheriff’s Department, on Thursday deputies arrested Tyler James Deyoung, 21, of Defiance, Missouri.
Authorities arrested Deyoung after serving a search warrant at his dorm room, where a laptop computer and a cellular telephone were seized.
During the course of the investigation it was revealed that Deyoung had made contact with and then met and engaged in sexual activity with a 15 year old girl.
Deyoung was charged second-degree statutory rape and second-degree statutory sodomy.
He is being held in the Osage County Jail on a $25,000.00 cash/surety bond.
