JCTV to implement membership fees

Not long after seeing a cut in its budget, JCTV is searching for new revenues and looking to implement aspects of an action plan revealed late last month.

Earlier this month, the City Council approved its 2013 budget, which included a $110,000 budget for JCTV to allow the station to continue operating through June 2013. The council indicated that would give Lincoln University time to consider what it could do to help fund the station's operation.

At the JCTV Steering Committee meeting Thursday, station manager Gloria Enloe said they would implement membership fees outlined in the action plan Nov. 1. The action plan specifies a two-tier membership fee to be applied to programmers and those interested in supporting JCTV.

According to the action plan, a $35 premium membership would include programming and use rights, a membership card and a premium gift item from the station. A $25 basic members would include programing and use rights along with a membership card. The proposal also included fees for production service and training, as well as underwriting for high-profile productions.
