Helias looks for bonus points against Rock Bridge

Helias quarterback Wyatt Porter (12) has thrown for nearly 1,000 yards and run for 242 this season heading into Friday night’s game at Rock Bridge.

The Helias Crusaders aren’t afraid to play up. They just need to use it to its full advantage.

Under the new district system implemented this season, teams receive extra points for playing up in classification. That means Class 4 Helias is being rewarded for facing the three Class 6 teams on its schedule.

But the rewards would be bigger with a victory and that’s what the Crusaders (3-2, ranked No. 5 in Class 4) are looking for Friday night when they travel to Columbia to take on the Rock Bridge Bruins (3-2).
