Gorillas hammer Blue Tigers

PITTSBURG, Kan. — The No. 1 team in the nation proved it has that ranking for a reason.
The Pittsburg State Gorillas, riding high above the Division II rankings, scored five touchdowns in the first quarter and steamrolled the Lincoln Blue Tigers 59-17 on Saturday night.
The Gorillas scored just 1:08 into the game and Lincoln got as close as it would all game when the Blue Tigers got a field goal from Michael Ashley with 10:21 left in the period.
Pittsburg State answered with four more scores, including a touchdown on the final play of the first quarter, to lead 35-3. The lead eventually ....
