Crusaders survive in final game of soccer tourney

The Helias Crusaders had an exciting soccer sandwich Saturday afternoon.

Helias wrapped up its play in the Capital City Invitational with a contest against Holt at the 179 Soccer Park. The Crusaders scored in the opening minute to take the lead, then weathered a scary final 15 seconds to hold on for a 1-0 victory over the Indians.

“It was survival,” Helias coach Chuck Register said. “It’s a good thing we got that goal.”
