Appeals Court: Baptist Convention fight not finished

The Missouri Baptist Convention’s legal battle with five of its “breakaway” agencies began more than a decade ago. And this week’s appeals court ruling involving the Missouri Baptist Foundation shows the legal wrangling isn’t finished.

The MBC, its executive board and six congregations filed a 52-page lawsuit Aug. 13, 2002, asking the Cole County Circuit Court to void new charters that the five agencies had filed with the secretary of state’s office in 2000 and 2001.
