Autopsy to be performed Monday

The Maries County Sheriff's Department is investigating the weekend discovery of a male body near a wooded area along Missouri 28 near Route E.
The body apparently had been outdoors for several days. The cause of death is still undetermined, and it's unknown if foul play was involved.
The sheriff's department believes it has determined the male's identity; however, his name and age are not being released pending further investigation.
The remains were taken to the Boone County Medical Examiner's Office and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday afternoon.
