Helias falls short, losing 21-14

COLUMBIA, Mo. - This one got away.

Down throughout the game Friday night, the Helias Crusaders were poised to pull into a tie with the Hickman Kewpies as the clock wound down inside the final minute.

But then, in a fourth quarter full of big plays from both teams, the Kewpies got the last one. Deven Larry picked off a Helias pass at the goal line with less than :10 remaining as Hickman held on for a 21-14 victory.

"We had enough chances," Helias coach Phil Pitts said. "We just didn't get the job done. This one stings, this one hurts because the kids worked hard for all four quarters like you want them to do."
